The Ayckbourn Archive is the single largest public archive relating to Alan Ayckbourn and contains tens of thousands of items including manuscripts, correspondence, posters, programmes, photographs, publicity materials and other ephemera. It has been held at the Borthwick Institute for Archives at the University of York since 2011.

The Ayckbourn Collection is a curated collection of significant material pertaining to Alan Ayckbourn, Stephen Joseph and theatre in the round in Scarborough which was donated to Scarborough Museums and Galleries in 2023. It is the only collection of Ayckbourn material in a public collection in the playwright's home town.
